DSE Bounced Back to cross Tk. 2,000 crore with Marginal Gain after Two-Day Modest Fall.

DSE (Dhaka Stock Exchange) saw marginal price gains on Tuesday (June 15, 2021) which were driven by investors who had been attempting to exit a profit-taking tendency that had prevailed for the previous two days (June 13 – June 14, 2021). Both DSEX & Market Turnover has increased and remained GREEN by a margin at the end of day’s trading on Tuesday (June 15, 2021) despite the fact that the number of price loosing companies (195) were higher than the number of price gaining companies (152) during that day’s trading.

DSEX (the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange) has closed at 6022.31159 points at the end of day’s trading on Tuesday (June 15, 2021), increased by 8.69435 (a 0.14458% increase) from its previous day’s (Monday, June 14, 2021) value of 6013.61724 points. This happened possibly as stock investors are investing in stocks that fell in the last two days.  It represents a good sign to the market that when people invest in a falling market, the environment becomes vibrant. General investors’ confidence is increased by the buying pressure.

The Market turnover (total money transaction value for traded shares) at DSE has again crossed the Taka 2,000 crore marks on Tuesday (June 15, 2021) to close at Tk. 20325.86 mn at end of day’s trading. On that day’s trading, market turnover increased over Taka 292 crore (Tk. 2924.1890 mn), a 16.80407% increase from its previous day’s value of Tk. 17,401.671 mn which was lowest to drop below Tk. 2,000 crore range after previous 8 consecutive working day’s trading.

Salvo Chemicals topped the gainers’ list, rising 10 per cent, followed by Energypac Power Generation, Associated Oxygen, S Alam Cold Rolled Steels, and Reliance Insurance. Beximco Ltd became the top traded stock with shares worth over Tk 96 crore (Tk. 965.9930 mn) changing hands, followed by Pioneer Insurance, National Polymer, Pragati Insurance and Lub-rref.

On Tuesday (June 15, 2021), shares traded for a total of 372 companies. Among which price increased for 152 companies whereas price decreased for 195 companies and price remained unchanged for 25 companies.
