DSE Market Commentary @ July 25, 2021

  • Welcome to the First working day after the holidays for Eid-Ul-Adha and the fresh phase of nationwide strict lockdown started from 23rd July 2021, trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE)  has began today on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
  • Today trading started at DSE with a SHARP POSITIVE MOVEMENT from the very beginning with.
  • At DSE, trading has been started with a new trading period as follows from July 25, 2021 to August 05, 2021: Pre-Opening Session from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM, Continuous Session from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Post-Closing Session from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM.
  • Numbers of reported Covid-19 deaths, cases shoot up post Eid-ul-Adha.  Total 228 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). At least 11,291 new infections were recorded during this period, taking the total number of infected people to 11,64,635. The current positivity rate is 30.04% while the total positivity rate stands at 15.62%.
  • By 10:28 AM now market has been rising sharply with a positive movement as DSEX is currently at 6433.47 points.
  • After that market has experienced a sharp fall indicating possible sell pressure for profit booking by investors and DSEX fall to 6402.81 points by 10:50 AM.
  • Momentarily later market started to bounce back sharply and DSEX reached 6417.83 points by 11:08 AM.
  • Market has been moving sidewise with few ups and down since 11:08 AM to 12:40 PM.
  • From 12:40 PM, the DSEX sparked sharply from 6415.43 points to reach 6434.23 points by 12:59 PM.

  • Now 1:15 PM, after Post-Closing session, at the end of today’s (Sunday, July 25, 2021)trading, the benchmark index (DSEX) of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, charged up by 19.17341 points or 0.29935% to stand at 6424.21837 points.
  • At the end of today’s trading, Market Turnover has increased and closed over Taka 1,300 crore range (Taka 13547.02 mn). It has increased by over Taka 90 crore (Taka 902.086 mn) , +7.13397% from previous day’s turnover of Taka 12644.934 mn.
  • Today a total of 375 company’s shares were traded. Among which prices have increased for 116 companies, prices have decreased for 237 companies and 22 companies have seen its prices remained unchanged.
  • Today’s  SECTORwise trading at DSE have seen  PHARMACEUTICALS & CHEMICALS sector topped with over 11% of today’s market share followed by ENGINEERING sector.
  • SAIFPOWER (SAIF Powertec Limited) has again topped the list for highest traded shares in terms of total traded value of Taka 682.5980 mn followed by BATBC (Taka 510.3400 mn) and BEXIMCO (Taka 393.5480 mn ).
  • FUWANGCER has topped the list of most % price change with 9.955 % price increase followed by GPHISPAT (9.948%), MEGHNACEM (9.921%), ARAMITCEM (9.881%), BPPL (9.870%), AFCAGRO (9.746%), BEACONPHAR (9.043%) price increases.

  • BEXIMCO Green-Sukuk Al Istisna’a, the first-ever asset-backed securities by any private sector entity in Bangladesh, opens for private subscriptions today and will close on 26 August. Half of the Tk3,000 crore Sukuk will be sold through private placement to eligible investors, including institutions and wealthy individuals.
  • The upward rally of the capital market continued on Post-Eid buoyancy as the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange DSEX in the shortened trading window amidst a fresh lockdown has reached to an all-time high today.

  • The Equity indices at DSE witnessed an upward trend despite the selling pressure by the investors during the first hour of the trading session on Sunday.
  • The newly listed Baraka Patenga Power shares secured the top position in the gainers’ list, while Fareast Finance Textile was the top loser during the first trading hour today.
  • The stock market continued to rise for the last six consecutive trading days thanks to the increased participation of investors.
