DSE Market Commentary @ July 28, 2021

  • Welcome to the fourth working day after the holidays for Eid-Ul-Adha and the fresh phase of nationwide strict lockdown started from 23rd July 2021, trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE)  has began today on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
  • Today trading started at DSE with a positive movement from the beginning.
  • At DSE, trading has been started with a new trading period as follows from July 25, 2021 to August 05, 2021: Pre-Opening Session from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM, Continuous Session from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Post-Closing Session from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM.
  • Bangladesh reported the highest ever deaths from Covid-19 as 258 people died and 14,925 people tested positive of the virus during last 24 hours.
  • Like the first wave of Covid-19 pandemic, infections and deaths are on the rise alarmingly in Gazipur, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Cumilla and Chattogram alongside the border districts. To prevent infection and death, the government is going to start vaccination at the union levels from 7 August.
  • After a meeting with senior government officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told reporters that the ongoing lockdown will continue until 5 August to stem Covid-19 infection. It was not possible to entertain the request of the owners of the industrial establishments to relax the lockdown, he added.
  • The minister also said those who do not have NID will also be vaccinated by bringing them under registration in a special way. Local people’s representatives, leaders and activists of different political parties and religious leaders should be involved in this inoculation programme. Law enforcers will oversee vaccination activities. Asaduzzaman Khan said all have to follow hygiene rules and must wear masks. Family members of the frontline fighters, who are 18 years old, will be vaccinated.
  • The market started today with a positive  movement with a rising trend as DSEX crosses the 6400 points marks by 10:33 AM to reach 6401.45 points.
  • By 11:00 AM,  DSEX is at 6392.34 points as market faced some downtrend movement for nearly last 30 minutes.
  • After that market started to bounce back and DSEX again crossed 6400 points marks and at 6400.17 points by 11:18 AM.
  • Now at 12:00 PM, market has continued to rise for over last 40 minutes as DSEX is now at 6409.73 points.
  • Market faced a little dip between 12:29 PM to 12:39 PM as DSEX dropped 6415.97 points to 6409.21 points during that period.
  • Market has seen a sharp rise between 12:48 PM to 12:58 PM as DSEX sparked sharply from 6410.19 points to 6426.45 points during that period.
  • Now 1:15 PM, after Post-Closing session, at the end of today’s (Wednesday, July 28, 2021) trading, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX went up by 37.51550 points or +0.58805% to stand 6417.19199 points at the end of today’s session.
  • But at the end of today’s trading, Market Turnover has decreased and closed over Taka 1,360 crore range (Taka 13608.976 mn). It has increased by over Taka 101 crore (Taka 1,019.133 mn) , -6.96695% from previous day’s turnover of Taka 14628.109 mn.
  • Today a total of 375 company’s shares were traded. Among which prices have increased for 218 companies, prices have decreased for 122 companies and 35 companies have seen its prices remained unchanged.
  • Today’s  SECTORwise trading at DSE have seen again  INSURANCE sector topped with over 16% of today’s market share followed by PHARMACEUTICALS & CHEMICALS sector.
  • FUWANGCER (Fu-Wang Ceramic Industries Ltd.) has topped the list for highest traded shares in terms of total traded value of Taka 442.0400 mn followed by SAIFPOWER (Taka 417.6690 mn) and BEXIMCO (Taka 395.9690 mn ).

  • PEOPLESINS along with SAFKOSPINN have topped the list of most % price change with 10% price increase followed by FUWANGCER (9.583%) price increases.
