On the second day of operation during nationwide strict lockdown, trading at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has been started with the new trading time frame of 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (with 9:45 AM – 10:00 AM as Pre-Opening session and 1:00 PM – 1:15 PM as Post Closing session).
During this nationwide strict lockdown, the country continues to reel from the second wave of the pandemic as COVID-19 cases and deaths are rising on a daily basis. Bangladesh have seen highest ever death cases of 164 deaths with a total of record 9,964 people tested positive for the COVID-19 virus in the 24 hours till 8:00am — the highest single-day tally in Bangladesh, as per DGHS report.
Dhaka Stock Exchange has started with gradual dips after the very first minute of trading in the main bourse in the capital market of Bangladesh.
By 10:23 AM, DSEX has dipped to 6202.55 points, a 17.39146 points fall (-17.39146 points) from previous day’s value of 6219.94 points.
From 10:24 AM, market has tried to bounce back and continues to the rise for till 10:37 AM to reach 6234.71 points.
After 10:37 AM, the market trend at DSE has again started to fall slowly but moved partially sidewise till 10:48 AM with DSEX at 6229.9 points.
DSE has experienced sharp fall after 10:50 AM as almost all sectors in the market have turned RED and DSEX dropped to below 6200 points (6193.18 points) by 11:16 AM.
Market has again tried to bounce back as DSEX crossed the 6200 mark again to reach to 6215.37 points by 11:46 AM but started to fall again form the following minute.
It seems like there is enough sell pressure in the market as the trading behavior of people are supposed to be affected by the SCARY COVID-19 tally in the country.
It is 12:00 PM,almost 2 hours of today’s trading time has passed. Market is still falling gradually. DSEX is currently at 6205.65 points, still at -14.29146 points.
In this down trend market today, TEXTILE sector has been still the market leader so far with around 21% market sharetoday (even though price decreased for majority of the Textile companies), followed by ENGINEERING sector.
12:45 PM, 15 more minutes to go (apart from 15 minutes Post-Closing session up to 1:15 PM) for today’s trading at our capital market. DSE has still seeing a downtrend in today’s market movement.
DSEX has again fallen below 6200 points mark and currently at 6191.74310 Points. Its now at –28.19836 points, –0.45335% from yesterday’s value.
The market turnover is now over Taka 1,500 crore (Tk. 15,406.824 mn).
It is 1:00 PM now; end of today’s scheduled trading. There will be 15 minutes more for Post-Closing session (upto 1:15 PM).
By 1:00 PM, DSEX has closed now at 6196.57423 points, a handsome -23.36723 points (-0.37568%) decreased than previous day’s value.
By 1:00 PM, Market Turnover has reached over Taka 1,700 crore .
Now 1:15 PM, after Post-Closing session, at the end of today’s (Monday, July 06, 2021) trading, DSE (Dhaka Stock Exchange) has ended REDwith DSEX ended at 6196.57423 points (-23.36723points, a -0.37568% lowerthan previous day).
At the end of today’s trading, Market Turnover has reached over Taka 1,700 crore (TK. 17897.443 mn) today which has also increased from yesterday’s value considering the SCARY COVID-19 tally in the country the 24 hours till 8:00am within the ongoing nationwide lockdown situation and limited trading time. It has increased by over Taka 238 crore (Tk. 2,382.568 mn), a 15.35667% increase form previous day’s turnover of Tk. 15514.875 mn.
Today a total of 374 company’s shares were traded. Among which prices have increased for 142 companies, prices have decreased for 224 companies and 8companies have seen its prices remained unchanged.
It seems like, stocks fell today riding on the profit-booking tendency among investors while turnover of the market rose.
Today’s SECTORwise trading at DSE have seen TEXTILE sector to be at top with around 20.60% of today’s market share followed by ENGINEERING sector.
BEXIMCO (Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd.) has been topped with the highest traded value of Tk. 973.0970 mn.
