DSEX, the main indices of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has crossed the 5800 points mark for the first time since January 2021. After the 3 days (May 13-May16) of EId-ul-Fitr holiday, trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has started on Sunday (May 16, 2021) and ended GREEN with DSEX 5813.16504 points, a positive increase of 62.66813 points, a 1.08979% increase form its previous working day before EID.
Though the price indices have increased but the amount of money transactions on the DSE has decreased on this day. Over Taka 1 Thousand 4 hundred 18 crore (Tk. 14183.653 mn) worth of shares have been traded on Sunday (May 16, 2021), which is Taka 35 crore 20 lakh less than that of the last working day (May 12, 2021) which had a value of Tk. 14535.688 mn). It is a 2.42% decline (-2.42187%) in the total transaction value.
Total shares traded of 368 companies on Sunday (May 16, 2021). Among which price have increased for 231 companies, decreased for 88 companies and remain unchanged for 49 companies.
On the other hand, the overall index CASPI on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has increased by 190 points. The index stands at 16,849 points. Shares worth Taka 71 crore 15 lakh were traded on the CSE. A total of 292 companies and mutual funds traded on the CSE. Of these, 192 have increased, 68 have decreased and 32 have remained unchanged.
