A special fund of Tk 20,000 crore is being set up by Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for the stability and development of the country’s capital market. The fund is being set up with the undistributed dividends of the companies listed on the stock exchange. However, the actual size of the fund will depend on how much undistributed dividends the companies have. This fund is to be named “Capital Market Stabilization Fund”.
Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved the rules for formation and management of the said fund in the 62nd regular commission meeting of BSEC held on Monday (May 3, 2021). The rules governing the management of the discussed fund, (Capital Market Market Stabilization Fund) Rules, 2021 has been approved in the same meeting. A notification in this regard will be issued in a few days.
